Year 10 History focuses on the 20th Century and some of the most shocking moments in human history.

  • We begin by looking at a local connection to a world famous event - The sinking of the Titanic in 1912- We look at the possible causes and who specifically was to blame!
  • We will investigate how far we have come in terms of womens rights over 100 years. In the early 20th Century a group of women were determined to push for the right for women to vote. These women were called Suffragettes and they used various methods to get their message across.
  • Next we look at possibly the worst part of human history - the planned killing of people in the second World war. This is known as the Holocaust. We will investigate why this happened and how it happened.
